REUNIONS & GATHERINGS

Family, School and Organization Reunions

Family reunions are a wonderful celebration at Blue Skies Inn. You’ll take home stories of visiting with children, cousins, aunts and uncles while you share family memories.

Blue Skies Inn has ten spacious suites which can sleep up to 35 family members. We welcome children of any age and have three accessible suites for your elders. We have porta cribs and youth beds for your youngest family members.

Breakfast is fun at the inn. We serve a full, hot nutritious breakfast: a hot egg dish, hot muffins baked from scratch, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and milk. May through September, you may want to enjoy a group breakfast together in our pretty garden. If your family members wish, we also serve breakfast individually to each suite – your choice!

Lunch and dinner plans can be made at Manitou’s wide range of restaurants. They range from “down home” family fare to formal dining. Many restaurants have private dining rooms if you want to plan a party. You are welcome to order pizzas or other take-out to enjoy in our gardens in the evening or enjoy visiting into the wee hours if you wish.

When you book, you can tell us what activities your family enjoys doing together. We’ll help you plan a list of fun things to do, whether it’s hiking, going to our mountain zoo, whitewater rafting, seeing museums or taking the Cog Railway up Pikes Peak.

While you will probably all have cell phones or cameras, it is always nice to have professional photos. Innkeeper Sally is a professional photographer, so another bonus is a free photo shoot. We enjoy getting holiday cards from our guests that included family photos that we have shot for them – it’s always fun to see which photo they have chosen.

We take a hundred or so photos and give them to each family member on a flash drive, and you will own the copyright.

Historic Reunion at Blue Skies Inn
The Gardener and Tutor
In the late 19th century, Ferdinand & Amalia Schneider were the gardener and tutor at the Briarhurst Estate, part of which now houses Blue Skies Inn.They raised a family here, and it is here that their descendants reassembled to celebrate a new generation in 2006. Their great-great-granddaughter chose our inn as the site of her wedding!

Ferdinand was the master gardener of the Briarhurst Estate, and because we still find his plants and flowers growing around our property, Sally decided to name and decorate the "Ferdinand's Garden" suite in his honor.
