Family reunions are a wonderful adventure at Blue Skies Inn. You'll take home memories of meeting cousins, aunts and uncles and spending hours visiting about old times. Family photos will be shared and new connections will be made.
We have room for a pretty big family. Our ten spacious suites can accommodate up to 33 adults, and we welcome children of any age. We gladly provide youth beds and portacribs for your little ones. If we don't have space for all of you, we'll enlist our nearby fellow innkeepers for extra suites.
Breakfast is fun at Blue Skies Inn. We serve a full hot breakfast. June through September, it is served in our Secret Garden which is surrounded by shade trees and pretty gardens.
In the late 19th century, Ferdinand & Amalia Schneider were the gardener and tutor at the Briarhurst Estate, part of which now houses Blue Skies Inn. They raised a family here, and it is here that their descendants reassembled to celebrate a new generation in 2006. Their great-great-granddaughter chose our inn as the site of her wedding!
Ferdinand was the master gardener of the Briarhurst Estate, and because we still find his plants and flowers growing around our property, Sally decided to name and decorate the "Ferdinand's Garden" suite in his honor.
Otherwise, breakfast can be served to each individual suite, or in our indoor facility, the Chapel Room in our newly renovated 1873 Carriage House.Your family is also welcome to meet in the gardens or in the Chapel Room for sharing stories and relaxing.
Manitou Springs has many informal restaurants, coffee & sandwich shops, ice cream parlors and pizzerias for lunch or afternoon snacks. In the evening, there are family venues at the Flying W Chuckwagon dinners or at the Iron Springs Chateau Melodrama.
Many of our local restaurants have private dining rooms so your party can laugh and visit to their hearts' content.
Our family has been in Colorado for a very long time, and we are happy to use our experience to help you plan family activities. Information we've gathered over the years about local points of interest and "must-see" attractions.
In 2006 Blue Skies Inn was honored to host the wedding of Elaine & Jason. Wedding guests included descendants of Ferdinand & Amalia, their grandchildren, their great-grandchildren and Elaine, the Great-great-grandaughter of Ferdinand & Amalia!
You can make reservations at places that your family will enjoy, whether it's horseback riding in the Garden of the Gods or rafting down a Colorado river. The Pikes Peak region is full of interesting things to do for all ages.
Memories of the reunion are important. We'll help you take group photos with everyone’s cameras. Sally, one of the innkeepers, will gather you all in one place and take a family photo for you to take home.
Please call us to chat with an innkeeper about dates available and your family's plans!

In 2011 we completed the renovation of the 1873 Carriage House serving the Briarhurst Estate, the home of Manitou's founder. (see an exterior picture on the upper right of this page.) The Chapel room, shown above, will easily accommodate a large family breakfast, and will serve as meeting place for family events.
All the rooms were so special -- Sally, you're soooo talented! One of our best vacations, and the nicest place we've every stayed. Thank you!
